For shops, bottle stores, hardware and pharmacies
A retail POS system that keeps the shelf and the report honest
Barcode selling, stock counts that reconcile section by section, and margin by product. Free on one location; R449 a month per location for all of it.
Built for a shop floor
Scan, or tap a favourite
Type or scan into one box — it matches barcode, SKU and name. The products you sell most sit on the first screen, so the common sale is one tap rather than a search.
- Barcode and SKU lookup
- Favourites on the front screen
- Search by name as you type
Variants that count as themselves
A shirt in three sizes is three stock items, not one with a note. Each carries its own price adjustment and its own stock figure.
- Size, colour and pack variants
- Per-variant price adjustment
- Per-variant stock
Counts you can do a shelf at a time
Enter the counted total for a product and the system works out the movement, records who entered it and keeps the reason. Count a shelf while the shop trades rather than closing for a day.
- Enter a counted total, not a difference
- Reason and note on every movement
- Full movement history per product
Margin by product, not just turnover
A cost price against every product turns a sales report into a profit report. Products with no cost recorded are shown as such rather than reported as pure margin.
- Cost price per product
- Margin and mark-up reporting
- Missing costs flagged, not assumed
Receiving stock at what you paid
Record a delivery with its unit cost, and that cost feeds the margin reporting. A product with no cost recorded is reported as having none rather than shown at a full margin.
- Unit cost on receipt
- Low-stock alert level per product
- Recent movements at a glance
More than one shop
Each trading location keeps its own stock, its own registered tills and its own cash-up, with reporting per shop and across the group.
- Stock per location
- Tills registered per location
- Group and per-shop reporting
Not built yet
Four things a shop might reasonably expect, and exactly where each stands. If one is essential to how you buy or move stock, wait for it rather than signing up.
Purchase orders and supplier records
You can record a delivery with its unit cost, which is what margin reporting needs. Raising a purchase order, receiving against it and keeping supplier records are not built yet.
Stock transfers between locations
Each location's stock is tracked separately today, and a transfer is recorded as a removal at one and a receipt at the other. A single transfer operation that moves it in one step is not built.
An age-restriction prompt at the till
A product can be marked age restricted and that mark is stored against it, but the till does not yet prompt the cashier. Treat it as a record rather than a control.
Barcodes on individual variants
A product carries a barcode and the till finds it by scanning. Giving each size or colour its own separate barcode is in the database but not yet on the product form.
Printed receipts and spreadsheet import
Receipts go to the customer on WhatsApp; rendering one for a thermal printer is not built. Products are added in the app rather than imported from a spreadsheet.
Selling with no connection
The till needs a connection today. Offline selling with a later sync is being built, and this page will say so when it works.
Where retail stock goes wrong
Three causes account for most of the variance nobody can explain, and all three are data problems rather than people problems.
The same product twice
Two records for one item split the stock between them, so both are permanently wrong and neither can be corrected. Unique barcodes and SKUs are enforced, so the second one is refused at the point of creation rather than found during a count.
A unit that means two things
Bought by the case and sold by the bottle, with one number tracking both. Each product carries an explicit unit, and a case is a different product from a bottle with a recorded relationship between them.
Adjustments with no reason
A count that simply overwrites the figure destroys the only evidence of what happened. Every adjustment records who, when and why, so a pattern in the reasons is visible months later.
Retail questions
Does it work with a barcode scanner?
Yes. Any USB or Bluetooth scanner that behaves as a keyboard works without a driver or a setting, which is nearly all of them. Scanning into the till is the same as typing the barcode and pressing enter.
Can it handle products sold by weight?
Products can be priced per unit or by a measure such as kilograms or litres, and the quantity is entered at the till. Direct integration with a counter scale is not built.
Can I run more than one shop on one account?
Yes, on the Business plan. Each trading location keeps its own stock, its own registered tills and its own cash-up, with reporting both per shop and across the group. Pricing is per active location, so three shops is three subscriptions. A single transfer operation between locations is not built yet — a move is recorded as a removal at one shop and a receipt at the other.
Will it tell me which products actually make money?
Yes, if you record a cost price. The profitability report ranks products by margin as well as by turnover, which usually reorders the list considerably. Products with no cost recorded are reported as having no cost recorded rather than being shown at a 100% margin.
Can I mark products as age restricted?
You can mark a product as age restricted and that is stored against it, but the till does not yet prompt the cashier when one is rung up. Today it is a record rather than a control, and it is never a verification service.
